ORC Spring 2021 - Week 3 | The Wonder Render
So the Designer Participants of the One Room Challenge are now in their 3rd week of their room transformations and I am right along with them! This bi-annual event created by Linda Weinstein and sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens, is being celebrated in its 19th year! I discovered this challenge last Spring of 2020, and have been excited to return again & again. Please follow along with me!
Alright...I have to confess, this is really where the * Magic * begins when I start this part of my design process, I am swept away in the zone — you know that head space you're in when your creative juices keep flowing and you literally have to pull yourself away to eat, drink, and visit the lady's room every so often? So while designing in my years past consisted of drafted floorplans and sketched drawings, it has all been modified for computer aided designs. I also have developed a deep appreciation for "virtual 3D rendering" better known now as eDesign!
So a few extra pointers before you have a look:
- Color selections can vary slightly based on each monitor's color resolutions. But mostly close enough!
- Furnishing replacements can be sometimes substituted for the real thing,
- I have the ability to interchange design elements after we developed a plan — I provide for this as a 'Revision' in all of my eDesign services.
Take a look at the Floorplan. It's an odd shaped room, but as I explained previously in the first blog post, many bonus rooms are. Mine, no exception. I like it's size, so I can't get too lost up in there. Also makes for a shorter painting session :).
Since I have the capability to show a space in it's original, remodeled, or anew, I tend to want to show it in its best light. My clients love to see the potential of their spaces in this this new mode and appreciate the expressive way I pay attention to the details. Here is a sampling of the new render of my new home office. I think I'm going to love it so far, except for some minor tweaks here and there!
Well, now I'm ready to get on with some shopping! Since, repurposing, recycling, upcycling is the favored route I'm taking for curating my space, I will be focusing on my paint selections from Sherwin Williams, along with some accent pieces I have had my eye on for a time. Also, this room is slated for minor repairs due to normal settling of a new house. Of course this task will be assigned to my husband for his generous contribution to the project ;).
As summertime approaches and the northern hemisphere approaches the summer equinox, I am including a shopping guide I curated just for warm weather fun!! Thanks for checking in this week and please follow along to see next week's progression.
And as always, if you find some product that you admire and want to purchase, I will earn a small commission but at no extra cost to you —
* Happy Shopping *
...from the light of my home to yours,
Deb
